After an unusually cold spring followed by a very hot summer beginning on August 3rd with temperatures exceeding 50 °C the harvest of 2018 officially began on August 24th with Aragonez for Rosé and Gouveio for white wine.

Compared to the previous year the harvest begun four weeks later. As the weather conditions were more similar to the ones in Germany this year, we are looking forward to an exciting new vintage with a lovely freshness and special aromas, and lower alcohol levels for the white and rose wines.

As of today, October 21th, we happy to announce that we are finished with the harvest. Now that all the grapes have arrived in the cellar, the time consuming practice of processing the grapes continues. One of the tasks that takes up a lot of our time but is also one of the most exciting for us is the fermenting of our three favourite grape varieties for or special mono-varietals and top wines: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Franca.

We are glad to inform you that the dry, hot summer and the late harvest has brought us many healthy and very concentrated grapes. The grapes will produce well-balanced wine of high quality with good acidity.
