After and untypical year in the Alentejo in which there were high contents of humidity and low temperatures, we can say that the wine-growing year was hard, though in qualitative terms there were great surprises from some grape varieties.
The following grape varieties stood out in our company this year by dint of their quality:
Alicante Bouschet
Aragonez
Touriga Nacional
By contrast, some traditionally quality grape varieties showed difficulties in adapting to the climatic alterations which occurred this year, particularly in our case Touriga Franca.
In our microclimate the majority of wines recorded a considerable increase in the concentration and structure of wines. The alcoholic content also increased considerably this year and no wine was below 13.5%
