Quinta de São Jorge

The 25-hectare Quinta São Jorge, named after the company’s founder, has 7 hectares planted to vineyards, divided into parcels which are located at different sites with different orientations. In additional to residential buildings, the cellar and the nursery operations, this estate is the repository for 250 clonal selections of autochthonous Portuguese grapevine varieties, as well as the propagation material for the most important quality grapevine varieties in PLANSEL’s conservation breeding activities. These include the reference varieties mentioned above as well as experimental material, such as the Verdelhos from Madeira.
