Quinta da Adua

The property is located in nearby Montemor between the road to Arraiolos and Almansor River.  Planting of the estate vineyard only started in 2000. In addition to the essential reference grapevine varieties (see above), this is where the dominant white grapevine varieties from the north of the country were planted: Alvarinho and Sercial – officially certified propagation material. This vineyard also boasts a new fungus-tolerant white grapevine variety which has not yet been added to the official list of approved grapevine varieties. For the past 10 years, this variety has been cultivated according to the principles of organic viticulture, and has produced qualitatively excellent wine. Unfortunately, it is too early to discuss an official release of this variety with the authorities.
